  Reaching one of the most famous marathons in the world became reality for Elkhorn product Steven Bohrn.

  Bohrn took part in the Boston Marathon on Monday after qualifying last summer at the Manitoba Marathon.

  Bohrn was the fastest Manitoban at the Boston Marathon after crossing the finish line in time of two hours, 57 minutes and 48 seconds.

  Whelpton and fellow Brandonite Dustin Asham helped the Toowoomba Rangers capture the championship in the Pacific 'A' League.

  Manitoba's South East Prairie Thunder are national senior 'AAA' hockey champions.

  Mark Agnew of Hartney scored the game-winner as the Prairie Thunder blanked the Bentley Generals 2-0 in the final of the Allan Cup in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador.

  Agnew was joined on the roster by Hartney brothers Nick and Del Cowan and former Wheat Kings Tyler Dittmer, Terry Yake and Brandon Lockerby. South East was perfect on the East Coast and will host the 2016 tournament in Steinbach next April.

  The Brandon Boxing Club has next Saturday, April 25th circled on their calendar when they host 'Spring Cleaning' at the Keystone Centre Amphitheatre.

  6-foot-8 standout Seth Friesen and his Vincent Massey Vikings finished in first-place in the regular season standings with a 4-and-0 record and will take on the Neelin Spartans for the city title.

  Friesen was also recently recognized with the prestigious Dr Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship and earned $1,000.
